So far I haven't been able to use my camera when I needed it. I made a few edits to the images for my first one in the series of 5. The other sets will contain someone playing the GameBoy, PC, iPhone, and the Wii. I still plan on using the color contrast throughout the images.
I wanted to use emotion as the focus of my diptychs. The gaming community always has levels of frustration though the wide range of games. This first set of portraits I took were meant to show facial expressions as if I were a distraction to the player. Gaming usually comes with a side of irritation when you have to stop playing to either answer the phone, get the door, or whatever. I wanted to try and capture this emotion in order to have more interesting images. The second photo would be used to show reactions to defeat, which at some point every game has. Here is a sample diptych and some of the better photos I took I may use.
I would ideally like to get images of people with the different of games we play to pass the time. My thought on this were to find one person that plays on the computer, counsel(xbox/ps3/wii), board, tabletop, iphone, or gameboy. Here is a mood board for a simple look at the different types of types of games
I took a image that was printed out, ripped it up, and then scanned it for this project. The goal was to take a image and retouch it using various tools in photoshop. This image was fairly simple but was damaged quite a lot. The process took about 5 hours to repair from its scanned state to a clean finish.
